This year we did something new with the Senior Model team. Four of the 2016 Senior Models participated in a fashion couture event very unlike a regular senior photo session. This photo shoot was separate from their Senior Portrait Session and the intent was not to create a yearbook photo! This session was a fun, out of the box, fashion editorial shoot to create images that highlight the talent of our model team, make up artist, hair stylist and fashion design intern. Our theme for this shoot was STRONG|CONFIDENT|BEAUTIFUL and everything from apparel to make up to hair to location was planned to communicate these qualities in our amazing high school senior models.
We began planning this photo shoot last winter. The goal was to stretch our creative abilities and create a unique image for each model that captured their personal strength, confidence and beauty. It all came together beautifully thanks to the incredible talents of our creative team and the maturity and eagerness of our the models that chose to participate. Here are the details of our Fashion Couture Shoot:

Of course, we had to share these lovely images so we held a Gallery Event on October 28 at FASTFRAME's new location in the Front Range Village Shopping Center. The images looked amazing printed on Fine Art paper! Besides, munching on cookies donated by Mary's Mountain Cookies and sipping sparkling beverages, those who attended donated to the family of Blake Miller to help cover the costs of her medical treatment. Blake was diagnosed with stage 3, high risk neuroblastoma at the age of 17 months. We are thrilled to tell you that we raised over $500 to help Blake's family with expenses. Blake has successfully recovered from surgery and her prognosis is good!! If you would like to help the Miller family with continued expenses as they work with Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York to monitor Blake's health, you can do that by clicking here.
Now, I am guessing that you would like to see these images! Here they are:

I fell in love with photographing the stunning Miss Taylor during our fashion model shoot last Spring for Twelfth Year Magazine. Taylor's sweet, humble spirit rocked that session and she landed on the cover! (Check out this year's issue of Twelfth Year Magazine here.) Taylor is an important part of Rocky Mountain High School's Varsity Volleyball team so we began her Senior Session in the studio to show off her love of the sport. Then, we headed outside to a day filled with dark clouds and thunderstorms! We scurried around town avoiding the rain - even ducking into a store in Old Town as thunder exploded above us! Despite the increased humidity, Taylor stayed fresh and beautiful throughout the afternoon! Taylor, you are one special young lady and I loved running from the rain with you!

When we sat down for Samantha's Consultation to plan her Senior Portrait session, she revealed that she is obsessed with plam trees. Hmmm, interesting. Not what I usually hear from Colorado high school seniors. Now, where was I to find a palm tree in Northern Colorado?? She also told me that she is obsessed with collecting quotes. One of her favorite quotes by Elizabeth Green, "Sometimes the most ordinary things could be made extraordinary, simply by doing them with the right people", was certainly true for this session. Sam's Senior Portrait session was extraordinary, simply because Sam, her Mom, my make up artist and my intern were a part of it. Working with extraordinary people does make magic happen.
Samantha may look familiar, she is rather famous for her success on the Fossil Ridge High School tennis team. But Sam has tons of tennis photos so her Senior Portrait Session focuses on her love of fashion, palm trees, beaches and her country.
We began Sam's session in the studio, using a simple white paper back drop to highlight her favorite pair of striped pants! Then, we headed to Gulley's Greenhouse for a tropical backdrop and palm trees! Next up was the river where Sam appeared to be the quintessential California girl rocking a white Hollister skirt on a beach.
But Sam's true identity is disclosed when she plays with a scarf resembling the British flag and then joyfully wraps herself in a real Union Jack. There is good reason why the United Kingdom's flag has a special place in her heart - Samantha was born in England.
Full of energy, Samantha goes Boho as the sun starts to set wearing an amazing crocheted top from Anthropologie. Followed by a simple coral maxi dress that we first paired with a floppy sun hat from Cira Ltd and - just for fun - a golden crown. Samantha, you are truly a strong, beautiful and vibrant young lady! I am so thrilled that you are part of the 2015 CSP-Senior Model Team!!

If you missed last week's Reveal Party, here is your chance to meet this year's Senior Models and view the newest edition of Twelfth Year magazine. The 2015 Senior Models are part of our model program which begins during the junior year of high school. These stunning young women model apparel and accessories from local stores and boutiques that showcase the most current fashion trends. I admit that this is my favorite project all year. Maybe it is because I feel like I am actually putting that journalism degree to use! I have as much fun as the girls - going to fittings, watching the make up artists and hair stylist work their magic and marveling at how each girl magically fits her style trend. Then, there is the absolute best part: seeing their natural beauty through the lens. And, as crazy as it might sound, I also love the work of bringing the magazine to life. If you are not familiar with the magazine, Twelfth Year is an online and print look book for high school seniors full of style tips and ideas for what to wear to a Senior Portrait session. But it is also a handy guide for anyone who loves fashion!
