Meet Hannah, a gorgeous 2016 Senior girl from Fossil Ridge High School.  Hannah's Senior Portrait Session had a little bit of everything - studio, urban and park locations.  We began in the studio and had some fun with a volleyball - a sport Hannah played at FRHS.  Then we headed to an offbeat urban location that was the perfect backdrop for Hannah's modern sense of style.  The light reflecting off the various buildings and hard surfaces made it easy to capture the sparkle in this happy girl's eyes.  Then we headed to a local park to play with a flower crown and some more casual looks.  This is definitely one of my favorite sessions from last Summer.  Hannah's feminine style was a perfect match for her sweet personality!

Bailey is a Colorado girl who recently graduated from Fossil Ridge High School but her heart and soul lives at the beach!  So, when we planned her Senior Portrait Session last Summer, we headed to the closest thing Northern Colorado has to a beach - the Cache La Poudre river.

Bailey was a member of the CSP 2016 Senior Model Team so I knew her session was going to be relaxed and fun!  Bailey has a great sense of humor and an honest, no nonsense approach to life that I love!  An excellent student and competitive tennis player, Bailey is heading to Eckerd College in Florida this Fall where she will be near a real beach.  But for her Senior Portraits, we had the warm sun of Colorado and the cool water of the river to highlight Bailey's brilliant smile and gorgeous hair!

Have you heard?  Jade Jones, of Fossil Ridge High School, was our Style ReDefined Senior for 2016!  This award is given annually to a high school senior nominated by her peers or teachers as someone who lives her life with a "style" that affects her school and community in a positive way. Now, we are not talking about fashion style - although Jade has an incredible fashion style. We are talking about a person's character, how they treat others, having the confidence to reach out to other students, lifting up those that may be struggling - in other words, a person's "inner style."

Jade is a perfect example of Style ReDefined.  As the winner, Jade was featured in Twelfth Year Magazine, Vol 4 and you can read more about her story in the print magazine or the online version available here.  The Style ReDefined winner also receives a full Senior Portrait Session from Cindy Short Photography as well as a print package.  Jade's Senior Portrait Session ended up being one of my favorites of all time!

Just being in Jade's presence is enough to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside.  But, as a photographer, I was positively giddy when Jade and her Step Mom decided to do some photos together dressed in vintage clothing.  These two have a special bond and they took my breath away dancing through Old Town Fort Collins!

The second part of Jade's session took place at the scenic Poudre River Stables.  Jade seemed to transform with each apparel change and she rocked them all!  From the country look where she made friends with a horse, to the boho skirt down by a stream, to the prom gown as we headed to sunset, Jade glowed with each new style!  As you can see in her images below, Jade is truly beautiful inside and out!

What a fun Senior Portrait Session!  Sophie arrived with so much energy and a brilliant smile, it is no suprise that she is a member of Rocky Mountain High School's Varisty Cheerleading Squad.  She has a really fun fashion sense and was stunning in every outfit she brought to her session.  I especially loved the herringbone patterned socks!

Sophie wanted an urban session with a bit of nature so we headed to the Oval on Colorado State University's campus.  The Oval is one of my favorite places in Northern Colorado because it offers so much variety with historic buildings, railroad tracks and giant trees.  And on this day, we had one of those perfect Colorado blue sky Fall days that made the yellow leaves sparkle like gold!

This auburn haired beauty will be graduating soon and leaving RMHS to head to the University of Louisville.  "Get involved with the school," is Sophie's advice to those just beginning their high school career.

Do you remember all the rain last Summer?  If you are planning your Senior Portrait Session, you may wonder what happens if it rains.  Well, sometimes we wait it out or grab an umbrella (like April's Senior Session) but sometimes, the rain doesn't stop.  That happened during Jesse's Session.  We started out in Old Town Fort Collins confident in the weather because my weather app predicted a cloudy day.  No problem, I like clouds.  However, it started to down pour (what my father-in-law calls a "toad strangler") and as we ran for cover it turned to hail.  When I received a weather alert on my phone that a tornado had been spotted nearby, we decided to reschedule the rest of Jesse's Session.  A few weeks later, on a beautiful sunny day, we finished the rest of Jesse's Session in the beautiful Horsetooth Mountain area.

Senior Portrait Sessions are always planned to feature many different backgrounds, clothing changes and expressions.  Jesse is a mature, confident young lady who has a keen eye for fashion.  She has the cutest clothes and it was fun to plan great locations for each outfit.  I love how Jesse can own the "fierce" look and then burst into a gorgeously big smile!  Jesse is part of the CSP 2016 Senior Model Team and has won a special place in my heart.  As she heads to Marist College in New York after graduation to major in Communications, she will be greatly missed!
