At the end of April's 2016 Senior Portrait Session, she nicknamed the session "Fire and Ice."  A perfect nickname for the day! We began at a park with beautiful sunshine but as we arrived in Old Town Fort Collins, a rain storm threatened to interrupt April's Senior Photos.  However, when we handed her an umbrella, this sweet girl decided to have fun with it!  Looking beautiful in all kinds of weather, April was radiant all the way to the end as we finished with sparklers!

April, a Fossil Ridge High School Senior, is known for her positive attitude and work ethic, traits that led her to become Color Guard Captain with the award winning FRHS marching band.  During her senior year, she plans to begin her college career early and take classes at Front Range Community College.  Eventually, she plans to graduate from Colorado State University with a degree in social work.  When asked what advice she would give to incoming high school freshman, April suggested they fall in love.

"Allow yourself to fall in love with something that interests you.  It doesn't have to be what everyone else is doing, it doesn't even have to be a school related sport or activity.  As long you are involved in something that makes you happy outside of your school workload.  I fell in love with color guard, made a family and have memories to last a lifetime," said April.

Excellent advice, April!

CSP Seniors strives to provide a unique experience for every senior while creating authentic, modern photography that reflects the individual.  I think April's Fire and Ice session was perfect for a girl destined to set the world on fire.

The first time I photographed the lovely Sophie Lafayette was for this year's edition of Twelfth Year magazine.  Sophie, a senior from Fossil Ridge High School, was modeling the Elegant Maxi style as a member of the 2015 CSP Model Team.  I loved the natural confidence I saw in Sophie and it was even more evident through my lens.  Sophie is so comfortable just being Sophie!

This intelligent, world traveler spent the summer in the Netherlands visiting family and is hoping to return for college.  As a dual U.S and Dutch citizen Sophie just may get to realize her dream.  She returned home just in time for her Senior Portrait Session in August.  As part of making each session unique, I love incorporating something special into Senior Sessions such as their favorite sport, hobby or passion.   And although Sophie has participated in several sports such as tennis and lacrosse, her real passion is for reading.  So, Sophie's session began in the studio playing with books.  I love the expressions in her studio shots! You can see how much fun it is to hang out with this girl!

Next up was Old Town Fort Collins for some fun with a giant lollipop and cinnamon soda from Rocket Fizz. Nothing like sugar to get you energized for a photo shoot!  It apparently worked because Sophie was still laughing as we ended our session in the woods near the Cache La Poudre River.  It was late Summer and I was amazed at how calmly elegant Sophie looked in a stunning blue dress as we doused ourselves in mosquito repellant!  I am sure you will agree that Sophie is jaw-dropping GORGEOUS in her Senior Photos!

I was super excited when McKenna booked her Senior Portrait Session for an early morning last Fall.  I love morning light!  But not too many high school seniors choose to get up early and brave chilly temperatures to capture their Senior Portraits.  I think you will agree that it was worth it when you see how lovely McKenna looks in these morning shots. An active girl who participates in track and cross country at Rocky Mountain High School plus swimming and snowboarding, wasn't going to let a little cool air slow her down!

I have a feeling that life is never dull for McKenna - who just attended the MTV Awards and After Parties in LA with her Dad.  And her Senior Portrait Session was about to take a turn for the unexpected.  A quick drive and a change of clothes landed us in Old Town Fort Collins where we took some shots with the old, gungy cars.  Then, we headed to the railroad tracks where we found the train parked with its lights on.  The engineer, who was in the middle of lunch break, hopped down off the train and invited McKenna up on the engine!  How cool it that?  And, just to be clear, the train is not moving in the photos below!

Whew!  After that excitement, we ended the session, walking around Old Town while McKenna continued to look stunning.  Truly, everyone's Senior Portrait Session is unique.
