In the November 2016 issue of the prestigious Senior Style Guide, I am listed as one of the Hot 100 Senior Photographers across the Globe!!  This honor, which I have been blessed to receive two years in a row, is the ultimate image contest for my industry and has brought squeals of delight, tears of joy and - I will admit - some shock as I double checked to see if I really won!  Why am I so giddy about this honor?  One reason is the fact that Senior Style Guide is THE magazine featuring the best of  the senior photography industry.  In addition, I am included in a list of photographers that I greatly admire for their technical ability, creative talent and business savvy.  But mostly because my image was selected from 7,012 images judged by three nationally recognized photographers that consistently create outstanding imagery and represent the very top of our industry.  Check out their links below and you will see why I have sought out these photographers for my own education.

Senior Style Guide's 2016 Hot 100 judges:  Teri Fode, Dan BrouilletteTara Rochelle

This year, my winning image was selected for the Styled Concept category.  One of 9 categories, a Styled Concept shoot is one where there is a theme - often inspired by the fashion or entertainment industry - and every detail is planned from location, makeup, lighting and apparel.  My winning image is the first image below and was shot during a fashion couture shoot with some of my CSP 2016 Senior Models.  The inspiration for this image was Steampunk Fashion:  silhouettes that feature the juxtaposition of elegance from the Victorian Era with metal elements from the post industrial age.  This look is inspired by characters created by Jules Vern and filmmaker Tim Burton and embraces the use of recycled pieces.  I have included two additional images so that you can see the many pieces my talented stylist put together.  The model, Hunter Davis, patiently wore this gear - including the makeup! - during a very hot day in August.  For those who love technical details, this image was shot on a Nikon D810 with an 85 mm f1.4 lens using natural light and a 7 foot scrim reflector.
